Shellen is totally secluded, with few neighbours and, on clear nights, an unpolluted sky full of stars. In the evening, this northwest-facing villa is afforded spectacular sunset views. Stir a tropical cocktail, settle into the hot tub, and watch the sun sink into the sapphire waters of the Caribbean. Then watch the sun be replaced by the twinkle of a million stars.
Cathedral windows in the living area and dining sunroom reveal big views of the sea and sky. A more formal dining room seats 6 in comforts that will carry your meal long into the evening. When bedtime arrives, sleeping arrangements include a king-sized bedroom, two queen-sized bedrooms, and a sofa bed in the private den, which sleeps two more for a total of 8 people. A fully-equipped kitchen waits for you to cook breakfast for your group… there’s a full-service grocery store just 3 minutes away by car, or head to one of the restaurants in the same area. Shellen has brand new tile floors throughout the home and and new pool deck to enjoy!
The natural beachfront just beyond Shellen Villa may not be ideal for sunbathing because of its rocks and pebbles, but it more than makes up for it by offering some truly exceptional, warm-water snorkelling and wading. Catch some sun on one of the deck’s lounge chairs then head down to the beach for a dip.
Best of all, Shellen Villa fits a family-sized budget—so you can enjoy all the top-notch amenities of a (private!) Caribbean resort, without stressing over the price tag.
The Shellen is a spacious, nicely laid out home with all the facilities a family could want or need. The furnishings are up-to-date and clean, the kitchen is very well-equipped for all your meal preparation, the house is kept in immaculate condition. The view from the living space and the deck takes one's breath away, the snorkeling off the rocky beach is lovely. The deck and pool area are wonderful, but if you have young kids, the pool area is not gated. We love the East End of Grand Cayman, but if you are looking for action, this is not the area since its very quiet. Some terrific local restaurants nearby if you want to eat out. Excellent service overall, and the only thing missing for me is that the house is not actually on a white sandy beach. You can walk down and swim in the ocean and go snorkeling, but it is not a beach to lie on! Nonetheless, loved everything about the house and its location, and found with a family of three adult children, we had loads of space to be together, and to be alone when we so chose. Wonderful vacation spot.
